some synth

Postby Kirill_Neoris » Wed Feb 10, 2016 8:28 pm

I've promised something :) So...

All of you were my great inspirations for this synth. So the password is a little tribute to you. I'm sure you'll solve it easily.
My position is that I don't want it to be freely flying over the Internet (without this .rar package). At least people must learn something here before they can get this synth. So please, don't share the password :) If you are the one of the contributers to FS, I'll send you the synth via e-mail (in some case that you don't like charades).

https://cloud.mail.ru/public/3JSJ/5HrMLDtbp - the 1st beta; a lot of presets which are useable mostly

Edit:
https://cloud.mail.ru/public/Kocf/xrepKWgoM - the latest version (some minor fixes. less buggy); just 3 presets, 1 is usable. limited preset manager in the sake of bug fixing.

Edit2:
https://cloud.mail.ru/public/9sSw/VarGeyWgQ - the latest version today. A bit nicer GUI (IMHO), one preset (just searching a way to make it not crashing sometimes). You MUST name your preset first before you can save it as an original preset in DAW(!) If not, you'll load the same "init" as at start.
Password changed: i've excluded the 1st guy, others are easier to find. Don't hesitate to pm me if you're bored and you're one of modules' creators.
Don't change num. of voices if the synth is playing something. It will easily crash then.

a******* (nickname) - the guy who did made the code to morph oscillators
*** (short nickname) - the guy behind Free running algorythm for oscillators
******* (surname) - the guy who brought us PolyBLEP oscillators

t********** (nickname) - one of the creators of the Shared Mem module which was really helpful for the Free running OSCs algorythm

All letters are lower case, no spaces. Yes, it's long. Stars helps with letters' numbers.

The aim was to create a very fatty synth that will easily give you any usable sound for any style almost. And FM gives wide possibilities to make very fat sounds even without the Unison feature. Cross FM is better to be used carefully if you want some gentle harmonic sounds.

Maybe it's not a very cool synth but I've wanted to construct this scheme for some long time. It can be buggy and the interface isn't good enough.

Cheers for all (really all!) that made all great modules for Flow Stone. I've used some cool knobs here. Big thanks to it's authors too! If you sure that I use these knobs NOT in the appropriate style, plese let me know.

P.S. Further versions of MoCAT are possible.

What an awesome idea to give out a key to everyone who is willing to search and maybe learn from this website! I have a few names in mind, but not all. May take a while... :D

This is some basic (probably random) example what you can get with this synth.
Except drums, delays, EQ and comp. (for basses).

I'm stuck at the first name. I think I'm right with all the others, but the first name is hard. There were several morphing oscillators, and the authors I found were all wrong.

Also the shared mem thing was the work of essentially three men.

I've fixed this to make it clearer (check the initial post). Some additional letters will help (I hope now it's not overkill) :)

The first one is still a mystery. There have been many people who came up with different morph oscs over the years. I think its a bit overprotective method for a synth. Why not just make a reduced demo version? you will have more luck with feedback that way.

I still think it is a brilliant idea. Let people search around the website and maybe even learn something new. I admit the first one was really difficult, but I can report that I cracked it just now. It is possible.

Kirill, I hope you won't get mad, but I think a little tip for the first name is ok, and won't undergo your intention. So people, have a look at what Kirill was looking at the last few weeks. How you do that? Well, you'll find out...
