IMHO a catchy flat design (which it is) is always the best starting point. And one always needs it to derive any fancy 3D or whatever stylish alternatives. I'd just leave it as it is and include upcoming ideas from further GUI development. No need to become hasty here.

Though i'm not very much into FS anymore and short of time i'd glad to contribute if i can.

I would also rename the plugin to "finite impulse response processor", so it abbreviates to FIRP-1. It sounds nicer when the abbreviation is a word in itself. I always give such nicknames to plugins which have long complicated names.
Or perhaps VIRP-001 ("get it? :-D whirlpool). Though I have no idea what the "V" would stand for.... virtual?

@stw
Thank you very much! That was an important comment for me!

@all
Well, if we can go crazy on the name, I propose "AIRSPACE". Not only does it mean
Advanced Impulse Response Stereo Processing And Computing Environment,
it also describes a physical charcteristic that's strictly needed for the plugin to work ;)

The last CE could also stand for - uhm - Convolution Engine.

Where is the facepalm emoji when you need it? Of course, you're right. But then we would need a replacement for "and". "stereo processing and convolution engine" sounds strange. Maybe native english speaking people can help out, or tell me that it's totally fine?

Yes it's fine from an Englishman's point of view and also a Vulcan's.

Whilst I like the name AIRSPACE it immediately suggested high treble boost to me. I'm not connected with the recording industry but I understand that "adding air" to a mix means increasing the high-end frequencies, in English anyway.

For this reason I don't think it's such a great name for this product. Sorry!

This is another commercial plugin. It isn't very old and I wasn't aware of its existence until today. Please have a look at the GUI. It features everything I was thinking of as well, but the worst thing is that the GUI is designed exactly like our GUI I'm working on. I'm not talking about the graphics. This one is imitating a hardware device, while I am designing a flat software UI. But I'm talking about the layout. It is 100% the same (like the library in the lower third, the display of the IR in the middle with Input and output sliders on both sides, etc.)

That's extremely frustrating.

Hi T ...

I'm not really seeing a 'frustration' issue. Follow me ...

Continuity, ergonomics, logical signal and workflow.

These can be 'expectations' that users look to, to quickly adapt to actually using a tool, rather than having to learn how to walk all over again.

OR ... is there some other aspect that's buggin' you that I'm missing?
