Re: Highest note priority by Hugh Banton

Don't know what I expected to find inside that green-in-green-out divider module

The (adorably) primitive solid state stuff that started to creep in those mid-60's tonewheel organs made them distinct from the likes of the 3-series. A decade later and you got particle board, and cha-cha rhythms ...

Re: Highest note priority by Hugh Banton

Total random curiosity: were there any old-school synths that were low-note priority?

Not really a synth, but some Hammonds used a monophonic transistor frequency divider in the later days for the pedals (Hugh will be familiar I'm sure!). In lieu of providing a proper set of tonewheels for the ...

Re: FlowStone dreams...

Argh, Now you guys have done it!

In the rush to assemble instant oatmeal this morning, I have found myself guilty of looking at the kitchen as a flowstone schematic, and seeing milk cartons as modules with a float value indicating fullness (Or a -VERY- dense array of whatever is in milk?).

At any ...

Re: FlowStone dreams...

If the vaccine causes flowstone-based fever dreams, I guess it's high time I finally sign myself up  (am 25, but was offered it due to essential status)

Re: Same thing I always get for Christmas...

The phrase "Put a sock in it!" comes to mind, but now I must wonder how much sound attenuation is provided per sock?

May socks be an economical replacement for sound deadening foam? A few peers of mine assembled pop filters out of socks before we had the money to put down on real ones

I wonder ...

Re: Same thing I always get for Christmas...

I received some latest revision socks this christmas, and I must say, they are the closest thing I've seen yet to the ideal component! They have good comfort values, and eliminate many headaches I've had with obsolete socks.

But life has its cruel punch-lines, and there is one caveat: their near ...

Re: Same thing I always get for Christmas...

I have learned to be grateful for the annual updates to my sock array. I find obsolete socks tend to develop pesky hole issues outside their support window.

Some parts just don't last as long as they used to!

Re: The days before Flowstone/SM

I've messed with trackers briefly with modplug, but it takes quite a bit of experience with the thing to know what's going on! I just liked to play a midi version of Beethoven's ninth I nabbed off the net, and watch all those little numbers go by

I didn't have one of those 100-in-one kits growing ...

Re: The days before Flowstone/SM

Ah, a bit of "circuit bending"! That makes me a bit nostalgic - everything becoming tiny self-contained surface-mount digital chips has taken most of fun the fun out of it now. There's not much room in between "works as intended" and "release the magic smoke" these days!

That certainly seems to ...

Re: Same thing I always get for Christmas...

Custom socks? Huh. I have many questions.

Are they a custom fork of regular sock objects that fix the "Sock phases out of existence when placed in clothes dryer" bug?

Was the bug where they gather excessive static electricity patched?

Has someone finally made the elusive Voltage Controlled Sock ...
