Quilcom SIM-ARC

Post by Spogg »

Hi all!

Someone on Facebook was looking for a plugin to synthesise electrical arc sounds, but couldn’t find one. So I decided to have ago. I also got interested in the sound of “Singing Tesla Coils” which also feature electric arcs but can play pitched sound to make music, so that’s also provided for in the plugin.

Bravo! Another piece of great art and engineering from you, Mr. Spogg!
An electric arc is a complex phenomenon, and the sound it emits is certainly not easy to simulate - I would not even know where to begin. You captured its characteristics very well! When I close my eyes and listen to your SIM-ARC plugin, I feel like I am right there in Frankenstein's lab!

Thank you Martin!
I must say the bit that took the longest actually was the graphical stuff.
